The Riviera Business Club hosted The Business Person of the Year Awards 2013 at the luxurious Marriott Riviera overlooking the beautiful Port of Cap D’Ail with a Gala Dinner where 140 members and guests of the Riviera Business Club and the International Club of the Riviera, judges, sponsors and nominees mingled and networked in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
After an exquisite festive dinner and superb entertainment by contemporary dancer Margarita Nagel and British Cabaret Duo of Monique & Nigel Jones the tension mounted as the Chairperson of the distinguished panel of Judges, Dorothy Foster was invited to introduce her panel and explain the criteria employed to select the winners.
The high point of the evening came when the envelopes containing the names of the winners were handed over to the President of the Riviera Business Club, George Kasiliyake who then announced the winners starting with the Start up of the Year Award 2013.
Ewan Bird & Bertrand Petit of Vin De Terre were the worthy winners of the Waterford Crystal Trophy designed by John Rocha which was presented to them by the Agent for Crystal Caviar in France 'Fiona Weldon'.
In addition to the fabulous trophy Ewan & Betrand were also awarded an advertising voucher worth 1200 Euros – a generous award from the Editor in Chief of the Riviera Times, Petra Hall.
This was followed by the announcement of the main award of the evening, The Business Person of the Year 2013.
Greg & Marion Harris of Cote d’Azur Villas were the winners of this prestigious award of Bohemian Crystal The Crystal Caviar Trophy valued at 6000 Euros and their entire team were present to celebrate the success of the company.
The Crystal Caviar Trophy was presented to Greg & Marion by the Chairman of Crystal Caviar Marek Landa.
They also received an advertising voucher worth 1200 Euros, a generous award from the Editor in Chief of the Riviera Times, Petra Hall.
There were also table draws with prizes such as New World Wine from Club Vivanova and Indian Dinners from Curry&Spice.
The event continued with DJ Mark Dezzani of Riviera Life TV providing music for dancing till the early hours of the morning.
A special tribute to Siegfried Poppe, General Manager and Maura Richards, Events Manager and the very professional team of the Marriott Riviera for a perfect evening!
